Abbotsford Restorative Justice & Advocacy Association

Abbotsford Restorative Justice provides a voluntary process whereby victims & affected parties can have a meaningful voice into what needs to happen to repair the harms, when crime or wrong-doing has occurred. We work with referrals from the Abbotsford Police Department, Abbotsford School District as well as various other community referrals.

Program Information

We are non-profit community based, volunteer supported, Community Accountability Program with the Ministry of Public Safety. Abbotsford Restorative Justice provides a voluntary process whereby victims & affected parties can have a meaningful voice into what needs to happen to repair the harms, when crime or wrong-doing has occurred. Conversely the accused are given the opportunity to take responsibility for their actions, repair harms done to victims, restore relationships and rebuild trust. We also provide conflict resolution/mediation services for neighbourhood and other community based disputes and Restorative Action services within school environments acting as an independent third party. Restorative Action is based upon the same principles as Restorative Justice focusing on prevention and strategic intervention to create more respectful safe and caring school communities. Restorative Mentoring supports youth and young adults in conflict at school and with the law towards future success and reintegration. Our Restorative Family Support Program provides intervention and support for families in crisis when a member of the family has been referred to us through schools, the police, or the court system.
