Program Information

Special Olympics British Columbia--Abbotsford, began its programs in 1986. Special Olympics programs are delivered by trained coaches and dedicated volunteers. Programs give athletes with an intellectual disability the chance to gain skills – in sports and in life – and improve their health while enjoying training that could take them to competitions at local, regional, national and international levels. Through Special Olympics, athletes experience joy and acceptance, cultivate friendships and self-confidence, and feel empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Special Olympics helps to change attitudes and create a more inclusive society.
